| Does the killing and brutal treatment meted out to extreme and terror groups by our states really curb violence and protect Western countries from terror? We think these actions defend us. Leaders in the west are quick to say that our future is threatened by terror, and unless action is now taken, it's certain that there will be an ever growing number of anti Western attacks. Many studies confirm that this severe and hateful way in which "justice" is done tempers nothing in those who seek to wreak havoc and make our world unsafe. To them, there is little threat contained within lethal shows of power. Extreme terror groups will not now be deterred by death's promise, but rather, zealots martyred by hangmen are rally points, and they make potent symbols, helping recruit those feeling that they do not want a place in this Western world. Making our cities safer places cannot be achieved by the usage of force alone. The answer is building bridges, which means an open discourse, talking to each other about what we believe. Only via discourse can mankind reach deeper, and create proper respect between all people, all cultures. When we all know and love each other, by finding out that we have common goals and human traits, then we will quickly find that we have no desire for conflict, only peace reigning supreme. |
