Australian Idol…
My mother can’t stand Australian Idol. However, I did watch all three hours (sucker that I am, everybody knows that the announcement is right at the end, and the rest is filler so that they can milk the advertising revenue dry) and found out that Casey Donovan was the winner. Why? Is it because Anthony Callea is too plastic? Or because people voted for the most inspiring narration… younger, less primped contestant, female (balancing out Guy last year), underdog story (don’t we Aussies like an underdog?)… the odds were always stacked in her favour. I reckon Little Anthony (who I have been told I look like on more than one occasion, not sure what I make of this) will do all right for himself anyway…
